Aidonia recently dropped a new weed anthem, “Joker Smoker,” and we hear it’s hitting in Jamaica with the strength of 1,000 ounces of high-grade. Produced by Yosuke “Pancho” Kawamoto of Japanese duo Gachapan, it’s built around a sample of Triston Palmer’s 1982 classic of the same name. Though it’s only been around a week, it’s already making some serious waves.

Brand new video for one of the biggest tunes of the year from Wayne Marshall featuring—here we go—Aidonia, Damian Marley, Assassin, Bounty Killer and Vybz Kartel. Now a lot of times these extra-stacked collabos can lead to an unorganized mess of verses with no real cohesion, but all of these heavy hitters in dancehall deliver their own razor sharp lyrics to this undeniable Jamaican anthem. Note the *scene missing* reel during Kartel’s phone verse…

Just the other day we brought you Russian’s new Dynamite riddim—featuring the title track from Vybz Kartel, plus tunes from Elephant Man, Aidonia and more—in full, or so we thought. Turns out the producer had more in store for us: specifically a new single with dancehall-artist-of-the-moment Konshens, called “Liad,” and it’s a tune. Going out on a limb here, but this is not only the best tune on the riddim but one of the best tunes we’ve heard from Konshens. “Liad” drops on iTunes this Tuesday but stream it here in advance.

Our friend Russian just sent us over his new Dynamite riddim featuring a brand-new single (also called “Dynamite”) from Vybz Kartel. Russian made his breakthrough with his production on “Straight Jeans and Fitted” for Kartel, and they’ve worked quite a bit together since then, so it’s no surprise that Russian would have some stored-up Kartel in the vaults. Other artists on Dynamite, a dancehall nod to Blackstreet’s “No Diggity,” are Aidonia, Elephant Man, Chan Dizzy, Charly Blacks and newcomers Eleigh, Fyah Bass and Jamiel. Stream all those songs below; it’s also selling now on iTunes.
