We’re broadcasting live from Tokyo this week, on my way back to San Francisco via a great week in Singapore. Spent the week DJ’ing and taking in 90 degree days capping off with the Big Wig Festival, where I also had the pleasure of backing Masia One (who just got off a SE Asia run with our boy DJ Autograph). As you know Mixtape Mondays never sleeps, and we’ve got another well-rounded edition with badness inna dancehall, blazing roots & culture, and original tropical vibes. Take it all in below.

Coppershot x Busy Signal, Busy Signal Mixtape: Stop it, calm down… crazy new combo mix from JA dons Coppershot ‘longside the hottest hott-ed Busy Signal. 33 tracks of straight shellings from two of the baddest forces in dancehall make for an instant classic for Busy fans, with Coppershot running through new singles and exclusives like just another day at the office. Leaving the reggae music on the dresser for this round, this one touches dancehall, bass, soca and some of the crossover joints he’s been blessing the world with lately, and just like that one of our top-rated artists delivers again. Stream and download below, tracklist here.

High Grade Sound, Culture 15: Washington, DC/Cali bad boys High Grade Sound return to Mixtape Mondats with volume 15 of their acclaimed culture series. One drop and conscious reggae done right, stacked with dubplates as always, and mixed nice and criss. If you’re looking for sweet reggae music from Protoje, Collie Buddz, I Octane, Peetah Morgan, J Boog, Romain Virgo, Beres Hammond and many more you’ve come to the right place. Start your week on the right foot with this one. Download the single track here, tracked version here.

Major & Minor Productions, 2013 Calypso Compilation – Tribute to Keshorn Walcott & Bertie Marshall: Quick change of route this week for all the Calypso lovers out there. The steelpan,  soca, and calypso authorities at Major & Minor Productions and Faluma have teamed up again to share this year’s annual compilation of calypso music, in dedication to Trinidadian javelin champion Keshorn Walcott and Trini steelpan pioneer Bertie Marshall. This is undiluted, authentic Caribbean music direct from the source. Rum and beach towel at the ready. Purchase and tracklist here, stream below.
