If you’ve picked up Protoje’s Ancient Future album, you might have noticed Sevana on tracks like the Black Uhuru-inspired “Sudden Flight” and the disco-flavored “Love Gone Cold.”

A fresh new face on the Kingston music scene, her own reggae soul sound invites comparisons to Jazmine Sullivan and Cherine Anderson. Sevana debuted her first single “Bit Too Shy” here on LargeUp in the fall, and now she’s back with a video for the track, produced by Protoje and Winta James. She’s bright and effervescent in the clip, shot in the hilly setting of Gordon Town, St Andrew,  just outside Kingston.

“After a long day shooting, climbing up and down rugged terrain, with help from some kind hearts and creative director, Tricia Bent, we managed to produce something that I’m proud to share,” Sevana says. “I hope that you will connect with it. ”
