Welcome back to “Selector’s Choice,” our weekly look inside what our favorite DJs and selectors are holding in their record bags and hard drives right now. This week, we check in with our boy DJ Dümi, out in Miami, for a multi-genre playlist from the Caribbean and beyond.

Yo, what up, though! It’s International DJ Dumi (Dance Under My Influence) checking in from South Florida. I’m originally from Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Haiti, and when I’m not spinning around the world, you can find me doing it in South Florida or working on music. But enough about me. Being that I play hip-hop/Caribbean-inspired open-format sets, I’m going to share with you some of my favorite tunes from across the different genres.

Major Lazer and DJ Snake ft. Mo – Lean On

Let’s start with this Major Lazer and DJ Snake collab. It’s definitely a favorite right now — I play it anywhere and everywhere. No matter what crowd, the vibe is just right!

KickRaux – Mojito

Next Up is “Mojito,” from KickRaux. He’s pushing the “Future Dancehall” sound, which blends tropical vibes with heavy baselines and reggae vocals. This one makes you wanna sit back and light it up. KickRaux always find a way stand out somehow.

Shaggy – I Need Your Love ft. Faydee, Mohombi & Costi (Dancehall Remix)

Shaggy just doesn’t go away! I really enjoy this song and I play it in my early warm-up sets. This dancehall remix by Don Corleon is rocking.

John Legend – All of Me (Gardy Girault Remix)

If you’re looking to explore a different vibe coming out of Haiti, you should definitely look into Gardy Girault. Gardy started the sub-genres RaraTech and KonpaTech, where he infuses tech and Afro-house elements with Haitian roots music and konpa. I know you’ve heard John Legend’s “All of Me” waaay too many times, but not like this! Gardy puts his foot in this remix.

Mikaben – Ti Pam Nan (ft. J. Perry)

This one is a more modern sound out of Haiti by solo artists Mikaben and J.Perry. It has a dancehall vibe to it with a little Spanish guitar sprinkled in. Very danceable, and cool to rock to.

Jidenna feat. Roman GianArthur – Classic Man

Jidenna is bringing what he calls “Swank” to hip-hop with his breakout single, “Classic Man.” The sound is similar to many of the other hit records right now, so it’s easy to blend in, but the context is definitely different. It’s just Swank…

Rich Homie Quan-Flex

I like this new Rich Homie Quan it’s still building a buzz but it’s Riding! It’s like “Partition,” but for the fellas. And besides throwing in a Drake or any wrist song in the mix would have been too easy.

Dumi & Prince Oli ft. Al Rocco – Show Me

And finally, I give you my new single and personal favorite, “Show Me.” I linked up with Haitian singer Prince Oli and Al Rocco, a rapper from Hong Kong, Al Rocco. The catchy hook should have you singing along in no time…
