Swing Ting, Wifey 008: London’s Swing Ting crew just delivered this trippy, UK-soaked mix to us, via LDN club night, radio show and mix series Wifey. Swing Ting consists of DJ/producers Platt and Samrai (peep his wicked Xterminator Records mix we posted) but is also a peoples-favorite club in Manchester for forward-thinking dance music. The Caribbean influence is heavy, and Swing Ting successfully combine house, garage, funky, grime and some Samrai and Platt originals with soca, dancehall and bashment, for a mix that will transport you to one of their club nights right from the jump. This may not be your usual cup of tea, but it’s definitely one you should be sipping. Stream below, tracklist here.

Dotta Coppa, Coppa Mi Name: One of the newest rising voices from Jamaica is Gaza-affiliate Dotta Coppa, who makes his mixtape debut to the world with Coppa Mi Name. This kid has a sharp delivery, and will definitely be turning some heads very soon once some original tunes start to reach regions outside of JA. His name is already bubbling dung a yard, and this mix will surely help the kid move toward some larger recognition. Peep flows like “Maximum Lyrics” over the “Look at Me Now” beat, with some added “nobody canna cross it” samples in there for good measure. Dude bodies that beat in particular, and if he keeps that up he should have a good shot at breaking out into the cutthroat business of dancehall reggae. Stream and download the mix below.

Asia Afrika Soundsystem, Tuffdub: (via Seen): Some serious dubwise vibez make their way on this week, courtesy of Asia Afrika Soundsystem (Selecta LionRock and Ras Muhamad) hailing all the way from Indonesia.  In collaboration with local streetwear brand Tuff Stuff, this mix touches on a classic rub-a dub-soundsystem style, with live vocals from Ras Muhamad complementing the live mix.  Foundation staples from Yabby You, King Tubby, Lee Perry and U-Roy meet modern production and versions from Don Corleon, 10 ft Ganja Plant and Alborosie throughout this irie-eyed excursion. You might need to dust off the chalwa for this one, but it’s definitely worthwhile. Inhale and download below, tracklist here.
