Chronixx’s debut album Chronology is the talk today but if reggae, roots and culture is your thing, there’s another new album out today that’s worthy of your attention, too. That would be Life of a Ghetto Youth, a collaborative LP featuring heavyweights Sizzla Kalonji, Pressure Busspipe, Marlon Asher and Ras Shiloh, along with newcomer Izac King, produced by Trinidad’s VAS Productions.
The multi-national crew recently hit the East and West Coast of the U.S. for a joint tour (also including Sizzla’s son Meleku and Trinidad’s Orlando Octave) and released a video for lead single “Mary Jane.” Now, they’ve come with another visual, this one a medley video featuring Pressure’s “Cherish Jah Love,” Izac King’s “You Are” and Marlon Asher x Ras Shiloh’s “Hold On.” The clip finds each of the album’s featured artists — minus Sizzla — making their respective journeys through the wetlands of Trinidad, climaxing with Asher and Shiloh’s Simply Red-inspired “Hold On.”
