DRE-ISLAND-HIGH-RESAfter a days worth of weed tune– see yah next year 420– Zincfence artist, Dre Island, swoops in on a love ballad with his new single “My Love” from E5 Record’s Love Life Riddim. A classically trained pianist, Andre “Dre Island” Johnson got his start co-writing songs for big name reggae artists like Julian Marley, Junior Reid and Sizzla before stepping out on his own.

The young Kingston-based artist’s career seems fit to take flight this year. After Chronixx’s extensive “Capture Land” US tour accompanied by Federation Sound, Dre Island will be crossing the pond for the Glastonbury Festival and a summer UK tour with the Zincfence Redemption.

As a single, “My Love” is simple, but its fusion of pop and reggae resonates on a global scale– not unlike the way Gyptian’s “Hold Yuh” or Jah Cure’s “Unconditional” pulled at our heartstrings in the dancehall one summer and filled it with love affairs.
