As of yesterday, summer is officially done: All the more reason to keep rinsing Ricky Blaze‘s Uptown Julie riddim in hopes that it will bring about a miracle that restores the date back to June 21st. We say this not only because the riddim was the basis for Kes the Band‘s (prophetic, we hope) “Endless Summer,” but also ’cause it fit Summer 2014 like a glove in all of its various forms, including Ricky’s own “All I Need.”
Taking a page from Kes’ promise that summer cyah done, Gyptian has decided to go ahead and drop his video for his own Uptown Julie contribution “Stunta,” today, the day after the autumnal equiknox. Is it a missed opportunity to drop the video so late on the calendar, or a chance to make the summer a little more endless? How the hell do we know, we can’t predict the future. We can tell you that if you enjoy watching fast cars and bikes, and hot women moving to dancehall, you will enjoy this video. And if that somehow makes the summer a little more endless, then mission accomplished.
