We last heard from Chronixx in July, when he was bringing the reggae revival vibes to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and LargeUp’s own debut SummerStage concert in Central Park. After closing out the summer on the festival circuit Europe, he’s back in the Western Hemisphere with visuals for “Capture Land,” the third single off his Dread and Terrible EP. Appropriate for the anti-colonial anthem, the video shows the “capture land” of Kingston from all angles—from the scenic views looking down from the mountains to the neglected Downtown waterfront, all beautifully shot by Jerome D of Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). The director, who also shot Kendrick Lamar’s “Swimming Pools” and “Poetic Justice” videos, manages to capture both Kingston’s grit and its visual appeal, as the ever-charismatic Chronixx leads us through the real Kingston. Check out the video below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
