It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to write a “Blacka’s World” column here on LargeUp but I promise I will be updating you on my work more often. Recently I’ve been teaching weekly online dancehall courses for free on my YouTube channel, planning my upcoming fall tour, opening up stage shows like LargeUp’s Chronixx SummerStage event in Central Park, choreographing music videos and creating new dance moves! I may have been quiet, but I’ve definitely been busy! Today I have an opportunity for all dancers in or around NYC! And what’s the point of an opportunity, if you don’t share it?
This Saturday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, renowned NYC-via-LA choreographer (and Fiyah Dancehall Theater collaborator) Yaminah Legohn will be holding dance auditions for her dance company Art of Legohn in New York City. The auditions will take place at PMT Dance Studios located at 69 14th street, 3rd floor, in Manhattan. She is looking for male and female Professional Dancers with experience in West African, Hip-Hop, Street Jazz, Dancehall, Modern and more. Opportunities include live events, film, commercial, stage, etc. Paid gigs are included. Applicants must be 18 and over. Make sure to carry your headshot and resume.
