LargeUp is teaming with BIG Magazine and Miss Lily’s to bring International Reggae Day to New York City this July 1. From 7 to 10 tomorrow night, we’ll be live inside Miss Lily’s Variety with surprise special guests for a three-hour program of live performances broadcasting worldwide on RadioLily.com. If you’re in NYC, stop by 132 W. Houston St. and come catch a vibe.

This year is a landmark one for International Reggae Day, the annual celebration of reggae music founded 20 years ago in Kingston. Events are being held across Jamaica’s capital (at Cafe What’s On and the Jamaica Pegasus Blend Bar and other locations) tomorrow, as well as at Queen Kapulani Park in Waikiki, Hawaii. This year also sees the introduction of the International Reggae Day app (available for download on all Android devices or Google Play) and a new theme song, “Reggae Day,” by Toots & the Maytals. IRD is also partnering with the International Reggae Poster Contest to work toward the establishment of a Reggae Hall of Fame Museum and Performance Center in Kingston; other outreach efforts will benefit the Alpha Boys School.

Head to the International Reggae Day website for more info.
