We had to take a moment to digest the serious gwaanings down in Jamaica this past week courtesy of BBC Radio 1/1Xtra and their decent staff of DJs, David Rodigan, Robbo Ranx and Toddla T. BBC isn’t your average radio station and what they were dubbing as the Jamaica Special was definitely nuh normal, broadcasting live performances, live dubplates and real interviews from a dream team in reggae and dancehall including Popcaan, Cham, Jr Gong, Josey Wales, Tarrus Riley, Stylo G, Ward 21, Protoje, Kabaka Pyramid, Jah9, Jah Cure, TOK, Bounty Killer, should I keep going? We recommend an accurate recap of everything right here.

Below peep some footage from the young general Chronixx voicing one of the largest reggae singles of 2013 live from Tuff Gong Studios, shot by our director friend, Storm Saulter, and crew. He seems mildly nervous out the gate but really settles in around the 2:50 mark with some head top flows that are straight fire. For folks looking for some new music from him, this should tide you over for the time being. If you were in NYC last week, you may have been lucky enough to catch the man live at the LargeUp x Blue Note event w/ Chronixx, Monty Alexander and Ernest Ranglin stay tuned for the webisode coming soon.

After you watch “Here Comes Trouble,” catch some bonus Jamaica Special footage of Damian Marley and Cham performing “Fighter” below, and Tarrus Riley doing “Gimme Likkle One Drop” here after that.
