Major ‘Smoker’: Aidonia’s Weed Anthem Gets a Lazer-Powered Remix

Walshy Fire x Major Lazer x Aidonia

Aidonia recently dropped a new weed anthem, “Joker Smoker,” and we hear it’s hitting in Jamaica with the strength of 1,000 ounces of high-grade. Produced by Yosuke “Pancho” Kawamoto of Japanese duo Gachapan, it’s built around a sample of Triston Palmer’s 1982 classic of the same name. Though it’s only been around a week, it’s already making some serious waves.

Not missing a beat, Major Lazer โ€”specifically our own contributor, friend and Lazer MC, Walshy Fireโ€”has responded with an EDM remix of the weed anthem, pairing ‘Donia’s vocals with the sounds of the moment’s current hot-button dance track, Baauer’s “Harlem Shake.” The original song’s production already has something of a dubstep influence, and Jamaica seems to really be embracing EDM now, so this one’s certain to be a shat, too. Download Major Lazer’s “Joker Smoker” remixโ€”which apparently they’re also calling “Smoker Shake, Oh My”โ€”below, and stream the original while you’re at it, too.
