Idiot Bwoy Tachurel

We’re always keen to hear what UK producer Damon Bowen has up his sleeves. Besides for being the engine behind LargeUp favorites De Tropix (read our interview with the dancehall-meets-UK dance duo, and stream their latest release, The Skyward EP), he’s also been known to experiment with house, African riddims and other sounds as DJ Instinct.

Recently, Damon (who’s worked with MIA, among others) launched a new label, A2B Records, as a home for his wide and varying musical pursuits, scooping up British songstress, Tachurel, for his latest release. Hailing from the UK’s Black culture capital of Brixton, Ms. Tachurel has a bit of early Estelle about her, but with more Caribbean flavor. “Idiot Bwoy” is firmly on the reggae tip, with Tachurel delivering some cold words for a guy who just doesn’t get it, over a vibrant foundation sample, produced by Victor Reid.
