Audio: Bob Marley + 808s Collide on Black Chiney’s “Jah Movement”

Words by Jesse Serwer—

Ever wondered what Bob Marley would sound like over some 808s? Ever wanted to suddenly shift your DJ set from reggae to Gucci Mane, without sounding like an ass? Black Chiney producer Supa Dups, a guy who’s done his best work voicing R&B singers on one-drop riddims and blending dancehall hits with hip-hop instrumentals, has got you covered then. Dups’ “Jah Movement” is a sorta refix of Bob Marley’s “Exodus” that sounds like it should be freestyled over on a Trap-A-Holics mixtape, and it bangs. It’s just an instrumental at the moment but, if I’m an A&R with enough cash to clear a Marley sample, I’m figuring out how to scoop this beat up before some mixtape MC makes it his own, seen?
