Audio: Download Stacy Barthe’s “Keep It Like It Is”

Words by Jesse Serwer—

We just posted Stacy Barthe’s “No Strings Attached” (featuring John Legend) yesterday but the feedback’s been so good we thought we’d throw one more your way. Like “No Strings Attached,” “Keep it Like It Is,” from Barthe’s new In the InBetween EP, boasts breezy reggae production from the man called Supa Dups and, as on “No Strings Attached,” the Haitian/Dominican songstress sounds super natural on it. It’s the last minute-and-a-half, when the song turns into an extended sayonara to an old lover, that things really get interesting, though. “I think it’s best that we just act like each other never existed to each other,” she says. “‘Cause that’s how you made me feel at one point. And at this point I gotta be scrupulous.” Ouch!

Stream and download below and, if that’s not enough, our partners over at Okayplayer have some more audio from Stacy and the Dups over at their site today, too.
