BUJU BANTON IS INNOCENT, boldly proclaims the headline to a Miami New Times cover story on the jailed reggae star that appeared online yesterday and hits streets today. The newspaper (to which this writer is a contributor) has been noticeably supportive of Buju throughout his ordeal, publishing an earlier cover story dubbed “Free the General” when the out-pon-bail deejay performed his last pre-sentence concert in January of 2011.
