In case you haven’t caught the vapors streaming off the blogosphere, the Flo Rida and Lil Wayne collabo “Fresh I Stay Pt. 2” just leaked, featuring an addictive and uncredited female voice singjaying on the hook. Well, let us put you up on something: that’s our girl Jovi Rockwell! She’s gotten a lot of shine recently behind her Major Lazer cameo alongside Mr. Vegas but we’ve been fan-bwoys since she stole the videolight from every other artist on the Icebreaker medley and dropped her first solo 45s like “Rizzla” and “Longtime Brother.”

In fact I can honestly claim I gave ol’ girl her first major press with a profile back in FADER 51. That’s the one with Keri Hilson and Santigold on the cover–appropriate since Jovi’s sound is kind of like a combination of those two with a double-shot of Sister Nancy and just a hint of Betty Boop. Let’s just say she’s versatile.

So in addition to setting the record (mp3) straight, we wanted to let the world know that we got some exclusive time with the lovely Ms. Rockwell when she passed through to bless NYC with her presence. Download the track here and stay tuned for more!
