As the 2018 Trinidad Carnival season gets into full swing, Bunji Garlin picks things up with a remix to “Big Bad Soca,” one of 2017’s biggest soca anthems, calling on Shenseea to add a touch of dancehall in the mix. The duo are set to perform the song for the first time on Trinidad Carnival Wednesday, at a show co-headlined by Cardi B.
The new cut of the Tom Swindell-directed video still gives you all the carnival vibes you need and then some, but a brand new video capturing all of the madness of Trinidad Carnival with Shenseea in tow is also set to drop this year.
From appearances in Toronto for OVO Fest, Notting Hill Carnival in London and his co-headlining Busshead Tour with fellow soca king Machel Montano, Bunji is starting 2018 off right after a massive 2017. Shenseea, dancehall’s breakout bad gyal, is herself riding high on the success of singles like the Vybz Kartel-featured “Loodi” and shows across the globe, joining Bunji on the groundbreaking song.
