Badness is the first official collaboration from Mavado and Jahmiel

Mavado has been a consistent fixture in dancehall for more than a decade, churning out hit after hit. Undoubtedly, his musical acumen has given him an ear for talent that can take dancehall to another level. In the case of Jahmiel, Mavado was spot on in recognizing the youngster’s talent and “giving him a strength.” Recently, the two artistes have joined forces, along with Alkaline, to form the supergroup MVP, with the promise of bringing bere badness to the dancehall.

The first official collaboration from the dynamic duo of Mavado and Jahmiel is a tune called “Badness.” The song is produced by Chimney Records, a household name on the Jamaican music circuit, with a sound that leaves you feeling nostalgic. Mavado’s signature sound adds authenticity to the track, as he echoes his experiences from the streets. Jahmiel doesn’t fall short, as his piercing rasp delivers the hook. Both men deliver falsetto-like high notes which help make this song more enjoyable and catchy. Unlike the usual high-tempo songs about “badness,” this single creates a lingering sound, that sticks in your head throughout the day. It is already gearing up to be one the biggest dancehall tunes this season. Chune!
