Righteous Excursion: Jesse Royal Meets Sly, Robbie and Chinna

Jesse Royal is one of the key figures bringing reggae into the future, but he’s working closely with some of the music’s past giants to get there. For “Little Did They Know,” a track on Living HeART, the exceptional new compilation LP celebrating 25 years of XTerminator Records and the life of its late founder Philip “Fattis” Burrell (buy here), Jesse teamed with three of reggae’s greatest musicians: Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, and Earl “Chinna” Smith.

In this mini documentary from XTM. Nation’s Kareem “Remus” Burrell and Sameel “Kush-I” Johnson, we’re treated to a live in-studio performance of “Little Did They Know” with each of the aforementioned at Kingston’s Anchor Studios, and commentary from the one and only Sly Dunbar.
