Easy Star: Jamaican Roy Hibbert Named to NBA’s All-Star Game

Large up Jamaican Indiana Pacers player Roy Hibbert on being named to this year’s NBA All-Star game. The 7-foot-tall center is having a breakout season, averaging 13.6 points and 10 rebounds a game for the second place Pacers. Before the season started, we named him No. 7 on our Toppa Top 10 list of Caribbean NBA players, but he’s easily moved up in that ranking.

Hibbert (can’t help but wonder if he’s related to Toots) will be the first Jamaican to play in an All-Star game since Patrick Ewing (whose son, Patrick Ewing, Jr., Hibbert played alongside at Georgetown) when he suits up for the Eastern Conference on Feb. 26.
