Perhaps you’ve heard the phrase, Put your skanking shoes on. Now when someone issues you this directive, you can proceed to your closet with no doubt as to which shoes are meant. As part of their British Rock Royalty collection, Clarks Originals is issuing a Ska Edition of their classic Desert Boot, in the checkerboard, black-and-white pattern synonymous with the Two Tone era, that time in the late 70s and early 80s when British youth adopted Jamaican ska as their own, and dressed head to toe in black and white (And solid black loafers, with white socks, were the preferred footwear). Though not yet in stores, the shoes are currently available for pre-order through England’s End Clothing.
