Things seem to come in surges and right now we are riding the francophone wave. The latest example comes in the form of this Antillean disco banger from Guadeloupean supergroup the Fair-Nick Stars. The Latin-inflected track is called “Arrete Mal Parle” and Strut records (DJs and collectors: you know them from their excellent Nigeria 70 Afrofunk reissue comps) is giving it away to promote their new Sofritos: Tropical Discotheque collection, curated by UK selector Hugo Mendez (socialites: you know him from his Tropical Warehouse parties). Listen below, download it here or if you must have the original, throw 50 euros plus shipping and trainspotting to this cat.
