In one of their first releases since winning the Best Reggae Album Grammy in February for 2015’s Strictly Roots, the first family of reggae Morgan Heritage have connected with producer Winta James of Overstand Entertainment for “Selah,” a dubwise anthem on James’ Mile High riddim. The video follows the lead of Peetah Morgan’s lyrics, highlighting the beauty of Africa as it questions the USA’s status as a symbol of freedom.

“‘Selah’ is the first single from the new album coming Spring 2017,” the group tells us via e-mail. “The song is just us sharing what we discovered about this beautiful planet we live on called Earth. The video further illustrates the song by sharing images of our travels with the world. Our hope is that this song and video will encourage people to travel and fulljoy the blessings that Jah has bestowed upon us, when he brought us into this place called Earth‎.”

Watch the video here, listen to “Selah” on LargeUp’s Now Things playlist on Apple Music, and check out the full Mile High riddim.
