Download the Dancehall Remix of R City’s “Locked Away”

Words by Jesse Serwer

In a last-minute entry for biggest Caribbean collab of the year, R City have just shared the dancehall remix to their Top 10 smash with Adam Levine, “Locked Away.” The song already had a notable dancehall influence, from its “Murder She Wrote”-style drums to the chatting on R City’s verses, but with the addition of Popcaan and the Suit of Black crew — Assassin Bunji Garlin and Kardinal Offishall —  it’s now fully bashment ready.

Popcaan sets the tone for the track, with an emotive intro, and it’s Agent Sasco and Bunji Garlin who really turn up the energy on di track with some tough verses. Kardinal Offishall acts as the host, large-ing up virtually every Caribbean territory in alphabetical order, while R City brothers Theron and Timo get a chance to further flex their mic skills.

Run the track below; it’s available here for download, so you don’t even have to rip it.
