Audio: Ape Drums Bring the Rave with “Bashment”

Words by Deejay Theory —

Let’s take a hot second to get everyone up on the kid Ape Drums from Houston, one of the baddest young producers in the Electro-Caribbean crossover world right now. While still under the radar, dude self-released a handful of ace remixes that are staples in my sets, including flips of Gappy Ranks, Vybz Kartel, Suku and an official remix for Major Lazer. Recently picked up by the big man DJ Craze‘s Slow Roast Records his first offering for Slow Roast comes in the form of this big room tropical monster, ting call “Bashment.”

The tune takes on a few different shapes, flipping elements of dem bow, classic dancehall and high-energy rave in a way that will murder any dancefloor and have large crowds shook on contact. Idiot soundbwoys beware, real DJs take note… Peep the youtube below and cop “Bashment” available on Beatport now right here.
