EVENT: Win Tickets to See “Better Mus’ Come” in NYC

Words by LargeUp Crew—

After years of racking up praise at film festivals and at home in Jamaica, Storm Saulter’s Better Mus’ Come—which has been called the Jamaican movie production since The Harder They Come— is finally set to hit US theaters this weekend. The movie, a period piece set against the real-life political upheaval of late ’70s Jamaica starring Sheldon Shepard of Jamaican dub poetry group No-Maddz and model/actress/singer Nicole “Sky” Grey, begins a week-long theatrical run in New York City and Los Angeles on Friday, March 15 at the AMC Empire 25 and Downtown Independent, respectively. One-night engagements will also be held in seven US cities—Atlanta, Chicago, DC, Houston, Philly and Seattle— on Wednesday, March 13.

Imagenation, Urbanworld Film Festival and LargeUp are hosting a post-screening Q+A with director Storm Saulter at the 9 PM 8:30 PM showing on Friday at the AMC Empire 25 (at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan), and we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away for it. To enter, you must follow @Largeupdotcom on Twitter and tweet the following:

We will pick a winner on Thursday, March 14 at noon, and contact you by direct message.

The movie also screens at the theater at 12:20 pm, 3 pm, 5:50 pm and 11:15 pm on Friday and at 12:20 pm, 3:00 pm, 5:50 pm, 8:30 pm and 11:15 pm daily through Thursday. For info on future NYC screenings, check www.ImageNation.us, or stay tuned to LargeUp.
