LargeUp Premiere: K’Coneil’s “Love/Lust” EP

Words by LargeUp Crew

Fast-rising, Jamaican-born, New York City-based artist K’Coneil is treating fans and music lovers to an exclusive 48-hour listening event of his debut EP, Love/Lust, exclusively here on LargeUp. The seven-track release, which features production from Kheilstone, Sean “Seanizzle” ReidOkino “DJ Wav” Thomas, Calli B, Tricia “ZJ Sparks” Spence, and Germaine “Mapy” Clarke, is being offered in both dirty and clean versions.

Blending soul, dancehall, pop, reggae and hip-hop, KConeil’s sound has been appropriately dubbed as “genre fluid.” The EP finds the singer accenting his music with raw Caribbean dialect, NYC grit and grime and R&B melodies, as he tells stories of bedroom trysts and provides glimpses of his current state of mind. Arriving as the boundaries between dancehall and pop are blurring more than ever before, K’Coneil brings a fresh new voice to the scene that’s right on time with the current moment.

Sample both versions of the Love/Lust EP, which is out this Friday, June 24th, below, and pre-order it on Amazon and Itunes (Explicit version) (Clean Version).  The first 100 U.S. residents who pre-order the release can send their receipt, along with your size, full mailing address, and a shipping-and-handling charge of $2.99, to info@kconeilmusic.com for a free, limited-edition T-Shirt.
