Mixtape Mondays: Kes x Franco, LL Cool Blaze, Sensilover

Words by Deejay Theory

Recovering from a solid week of SXSW vibes here in Austin (look out for our full showcase recap shortly). For now it’s still Monday which means new mixes below!

Kes x Franco, Soca Advantage Vol.6: As we prep for our official Afro-Soca mix to launch the brand new LargeUp Mix Series, it’s only right we warm up the place with some real soca vibes from our good friend Kes (Kes The Band) ‘longside selecta Franco from the Bloodline family. It’s a Kingston-meets-Trini connect with brand new tunes and exclusives from soca’s elite and next wave. Stream and download below, tracklist here

LL Cool Blaze, Electric Karnival: On the other side of the coin with a lot our folks in Miami during MMW/WMC/Ultra (whatever you wanna call it) in comes the electro-soca wave courtesy of LL Cool Blaze hosted by Walshy Fire and the one Barrie Hype. The EDM takeover has had a massive impact on soca music – reference Jillionaire’s prime 2016 examples here – and LL strings it all together with Electric Karnival. Stream below

DJ Sensilover, Take Time: Rounding things out with the necessary dancehall selections via Milan, Italy’s DJ Sensilover from the Irie Soldiers crew. All the big tunes from the last few months that have been running the rounds plus some brand new singles and riddims packing in a solid hour of heat. Stream and download below, tracklist here
