Epic Combination: Bounty Killer Meets Beres Hammond on “Anything Goes”

2016 has already seen some giant combination tracks like “Dancehall History” by I-Octane and Ninja Man, on Seanizzle’s 90’s Don Dada riddim, but this may be just the beginning when it comes to memorable dancehall collaborations this year.

Producer and engineer Collin “Bulby” York, of the Fat Eyes record label and production team that brought you big chunes like Beenie Man’s “Memories” and Mr Lexx and Mr Vegas’ “Video Light“, has been working on a solo production project, entitled Epic and Ting.

The album features a host of big combinations that will have you reaching for the volume knob. The first one up finds two of Jamaican music’s biggest living icons, Beres Hammond and Bounty Killer, teamed on the feelgood track “Anything Goes.” The beat moves swiftly over heavy synths and hard-driving drums and features church choir-like vocals at each chorus, as Beres croons about the best party you could ever attend. Bounty’s signature Warlord catch phrases set things up for a hard-hitting verse sure to send badman rising gun fingers in ah di air. Look out for this track to make some big, big waves.

Also look out for the reggae chune “Who Shall I Fear” featuring Assassin (aka Agent Sasco), and vocals from the late Tenor Saw. This one takes us back to the golden era of dancehall when Tenor Saw was running smooth vocals over King Jammy’s Sleng Teng riddim. We’re not sure where Bulby found these Tenor Saw vocals but the resulting combination is a great one with Assassin’s ruff delivery playing off Tenor’s sweet vocals perfectly.
