Words by Deejay Theory

Summertime is in full swing and we’ve got the necessary soundtrack at #MixtapeMondays with big tunes and hidden gems from some of the country’s top selectas. Dive in below.

Dre Skull, Fader Mix: The man like Dre Skull has appropriately set the dial to summer this week via his latest mix for Fader. Look out for a handful of Mixpak and Dre-produced favorites and  new joints, plus some lesser known heat and current raving anthems. Summer in NYC is a feeling best described through music, and Dre does a nice job capturing the essence right here, at least on the Caribbean side of things. Grab a cold jelly and press play below. Tracklist here.

DJ Green B, Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise Mixtape: Bay Area bad gyal DJ Green B just teamed up with our friends at the Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise who are going extra large in their second year with 2 cruises setting sail this Nov/Dec. Look out for more updates from us on the cruises but for now run this official mix from Green B to catch the energy nice and early with a grip of tunes from the Marley family and current reggae/dancehall greats. Tracklist here, download here.

Iron Lyon, Riddim Wave: Miami nightlife general and fellow Faction Sound Crew affiliate Iron Lyon just bussed a straight dancehall mix to keep the energy up up up as we close things out. Known for holding down a huge bag of styles behind the turntables, the homie stays with the bashment for Riddim Wave flexing a stacked selection of current forwards along with some of the biggest dancehall riddims of 2014 in tow. Stream and download below, tracklist here.
