LargeUp Premiere: T. Smallz feat. I-Octane —”Fire Dancer”

Words by Jesse Serwer

I Octane recently made his first visit to Africa, performing a pair of dates in The Gambia with local star T Smallz (aka Trobul Smallz). During the trip Octane also hit the studio with T Smallz to record “Fire Dancer,” a sizzling fusion of dancehall and afrobeats produced by Kapten Rod for Kap10 Productions.

“Fire Dancer,” which was A&Red by Paul Parris, is also the subject of an upcoming EP from KickRaux and Future Dancehall Records featuring remixes of the track in a variety of styles, from traphall to “jungle terror.” As a bonus, we’ve got the premiere of one of those remixes, a bhangra ragga ting from Cali’s Kush Arora. Stream the original and remix below, follow Octane’s Gambian journey here, and look out for more from Octane here and on OkayAfrica.
