Daniel Bambaata Marley keeps the crowd entertained.

“If You Go” is the latest release from LA-based crooner/rapper, Daniel Bambaata Marley. Ziggy Marley’s son stands up on his own two feet with this hip-hop-flavored track, a spot-on critique of the rage and hopelessness that looms over impoverished communities globally, and the political corruption that gives birth to poverty and other societal ills.

The track’s sweet-sounding, melodic chorus breaks up the otherwise weighty lyrics, allowing us listeners to wonder just what possibilities a future in another place and time might have to offer. Not one to ride on the legacy of his famous grandfather, Bambaata definitely stands on his own two feet with this one. At the same time, the dread lets it be known that he has certainly inherited the talent that doesn’t seem to be in short supply in his famous family. If “If You Go” isn’t enough evidence, check out the next-gen reggae track “Maintain” we premiered recently.
