While you were sleeping, or watching cartoons, Major Lazer dropped a new track called, “Night Riders.” The track is featured on Major Lazer’s highly-anticipated June 1st album release, Peace is the Mission, and is a collaboration mega-mash that combines rappers Travi$ Scott, 2 Chainz, Pusha T and dancehall industry veteran, Mad Cobra, for whom one blogger called a “Mad Decent reggae musician.” Very funny guys. In case you didn’t know, Mad Cobra has been around for a bit.
“Night Riders” is a perfect background fixture for a machine-gun wielding, Rasta commando that fights “bad mind” people, much like the main character in the new eighties-saturated Major Lazer series on FXX. Mad Cobra’s contribution to the track is aggressive and rowdy with a grittiness that you’d expect from a “bad mind” fighting Jamaican superhero. Pree the song below and pre-order Peace is the Mission on itunes.
