Maestro of Melanin: Jahdan Blakkamoore Toasts to “Smood Blakk Skin”

Words by Jesse Serwer

Jahdan Blakkamoore’s got a thing for his girl’s smooth black skin. And spelling black with two K’s. These conveniently overlapping fetishes fuse on “Smood Blakk Skin,” an innuendo-laced ode to melanin off the BK reggae general’s upcoming Order of Distinction album.

You might recall that we told you about that album back in December, when we premiered the lead single “Ting Tun Up” featuring Lady Leshurr and Melodic Yoza. Well, now it’s set to drop next week (March 24th to be exact), and to get his fans and the ladies in the mood, Brooklyn’s smood-est singjay has just unveiled the Lustre Kings-produced second single, and a teaser for the upcoming “Smood Blakk Skin” video directed by LargeUp extended family Birhan Tonge.

Watch that and listen to the full “Smood Blakk Skin” audio below, pre-order Order of Distinction here, and if you’re out in Texas for South by Southwest, you can even catch Jahdan live at the Sahara Lounge on Thursday.
