Mixtape Mondays: QQ x Wildcat Sound, Blondtron x Prince Zimboo x A Tribe Called Red, Melody Jay

Words by Deejay Theory

Monday is here and while some of our crew is headed off to JA on the “Welcome to Jamrock” cruise (jerks) it’s music and mixes as usual here at #MixtapeMondays. Big new vibes and a few curveballs from JA, Canada, Hawaii and beyond ..

QQ, One Drop Mixtape: The artiste like QQ just dropped his first official mixtape on the world to reel off some current material in conjunction with Sicily’s Wildcat Sound. Not a literal mix of one drop reggae music, but titled after QQ’s biggest tune to date which is still rattling dances worldwide. We also caught up with QQ at The LargeUp Sessions on Radio Lily this August for a pass through and also put him on the spot to cut an exclusive freestyle. Stream the mix below, tracklist and download here

Blondtron x Prince Zimboo x A Tribe Called Red, Bouncin’ Bush Stew Vol. 4: Another wild — uninhibited if you will— project from Vancouver’s Blondtron in combo with the always lol-inducing Prince Zimboo and Native Canadian supergroup A Tribe Called Red. This mix is kinda like ripping around the jungle in a converted 4×4 with a lion in the backseat, Blondtron raving on the hood and Zimboo howling on the roof. Read more on Mad Decent, stream and download the mix below, tracklist here

Melody Jay, Island Beats: Capping things off with some true island vibes from one of the 808’s hottest selectors and radio personalities Melody Jay. The mix highlights primarily Hawaiian and Polynesian artists, as well a few Caribbean one drop favorites that can be heard permeating the islands and airwaves thanks to folks like Melody. Nice and easy spirit from start to finish, if you’re having a rough day switch this one on and jus cool. Stream and download below, tracklist here
