Photo Diary: Chi Ching Ching + Silent Addy in NYC

Words by Jesse Serwer, Photos by Sho Shots

Fresh off his European tour and appearance on the dancehall remix to Lil Jon’s “Turn Down For What,” the “Chainsaw Man” Chi Ching Ching blew into New York for a series of appearances earlier this month, alongside his sidekick, Silent Addy of Eccentrix Sound. First up was the LargeUp Sessions with DJ Gravy on Thursday night, a program which quickly became the Chi Ching Ching Show as soon as he touched the mic. Ching talked touring, the zippa inna him ear, and collaborating with Lil Jon, and dropped lyrics pon toppa lyrics, including his “Turn Down For What” verse.

After Miss Lily’s it was on to the weekly Thursday night parties House Party and Brand New Machine, where Ching turned things up alongside the Electric Punanny and Federation Sound crews, respectively. Finally, on Saturday it was up to Annandale-on-Hudson to give the Bard College Spring Fling a deft dose of dancehall.
