LargeUp Premiere: I-Octane — “Trendsetta”

Words by Natalie Weiner—

I-Octane, one of our picks for the 10 artists keeping dancehall fresh in 2014, just dropped off the brand-new video for his tune “Trendsetta” here at LargeUp  Fresh off the release last month of his reggae album, My Journey (watch a video for the track “Love You Like I Do” here), Octane is back in the dancehall saddle in a big way with this straight-forward bashment track. Covering all the bases (women, weed, and Henny), the video features Octane in a classic club set-up, rife with enormous speakers and some class whips (how did they get those in there?). We’ve been wondering if Octane would return to dancehall considering the continued success of last year’s bangers “Gyal A Gimme Bun” and “Wine And Jiggle,” and it looks like “Trendsetta” is just that. Watch below and tell us what you think.
