Video: Mr. Williamz Meets “Miss Brown”

Words by Jesse Serwer—

Former LargeUp columnist Gabriel Heatwave put us on to Mr. Williamz in our Cockney & Yardie column a few years back, and we’ve been checking for the London deejay ever since.

U.K. label Necessary Mayhem released Williamz’s Set the Standard LP earlier this month, and besides for having some really great art direction, it’s got a whole heap of nice tunes. Preview the release via Mixtape Mondays right here.

One of our favorites, “Miss Brown,” is the subject of Williamz’s latest video. Looking a whole lot like Super Cat in a fedora and suit, the dapper deejay shares the spotlight with voluptuous dancer Nneka Alison, and a massive yellow sound system, chatting double entendres inspired by both: “Miss Brown ya sexy and roun’, mi wan spin a couple dubplates pon your sound.”
