Words by Jesse Serwer—
Reggae artist Christopher Martin stopped through last week’s Bob Marley Day edition of our radio program, The LargeUp Sessions. The Jamaican heartthrob spoke on topics from the morality of infidelity (the subject of his hit “Cheater’s Prayer” and his latest, “Secret Love”) to his upcoming debut LP, and what it’s like to be one of the many people named Chris Martin in the music business.
This was all a prelude to a wicked freestyle session that began with DJ Orijahnal Vibez dropping the classic Real Rock Riddim. After referencing Sanchez’s version of “If I Ever Fall In Love,” Chris went into his “Prettiest Thing” before dropping lyrics from “Mi Friend Dem” and wrapping up with “Watch Me Lord” on the Taxi riddim.
Stream the whole thing below, and tune into the LargeUp Sessions from 6-8pm EST on RadioLily this Thursday, when we’re back with guest DJ Jam Central.
