LargeUp Premiere: Stephen Marley + Busy Signal, “You and Me Attract”

Words by Jesse Serwer—

Ahead of his upcoming third solo album Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life (due out later this year), Stephen Marley recently dropped the single “Bongo Nyah” featuring Damian Marley and Spragga Benz on us, via an exclusive LargeUp premiere. And, now he’s got another high-profile collaboration in “You and Me Attract” with perennial LargeUp favorite, Busy Signal.

Is that a Kanye influence we hear on the track, Stephen? Kanye’s recent album Yeezus was notably influenced by reggae and dancehall, and it appears that the exchange is now working the other way, with Stephen incorporating some pieces of the 808s &Heartbreak Kanye feel into his reggae sound “You and Me Attract.” Stream below, and tell us if you’re thinking the same thing.
