Words by Deejay Theory —

Need some new music for the week ahead? We got you covered like cocoa butter here at Mixtape Mondays with another round of quality mixtapes from different cuts of the globe. Modern directions in one drop, dancehall and more meet foundation classics live and uncut from Brooklyn, Belize, Bermuda, Cali and beyond… Grab the nearest ashtray and hold a vibe below.

LargeUp Premiere: DJ Rampage, From the Office of The General: Lemme see some lighta… Dropping like a comet this week on Mixtape Mondays is our latest premiere, a mix from Brooklyn via Belize general DJ Rampage. The Rampage Sound Global squad boasts thick catalogs in the mixtape game, and our dude Rampage stays pushing reggae and dancehall music to the fullest—that is when he’s not backing Ms Lauryn Hill live on the road. The tape spans a full 1.5 hours of thoughtfully picked current reggae and dancehall selections, the perfect soundtrack to jumpstart your week. Stream and download below.

Klash City Sound, Good Vybez Mix: Heartical music on deck here selected by our friend and industry heavyweight Damon DeGraff. Definitely a rare and special offering from the Brooklyn-based Bermudan, who makes his LargeUp debut with this mix, digging into his appreciation of foundation reggae music and packaged in fine style for the website Here We Go Now. The mix lives up to its title with a mixed bag of roots, one drop and lovers essentials ideal for dodging duppies on the subway, greeting the morning sun or toasting with friends at your sunday cookout. Stream and download below.

Max Glazer x Snoop Lion, Ashtrays and Heartbreaks Mixtape: Not quite sure where Max Glazer finds time to tie his Wallabees, but our bredrin and Federation Sound affiliate recently teamed up with Snoop Lion to build this full-length mixtape of original, remixed and featured appearances. In an unusual promo approach, the mixtape (titled after the single featuring Miley Cyrus) launched after the debut album Reincarnated, just to give the people some more insight into what Snoop is feeling at the moment. Regardless of your personal viewpoint on Snoop’s new direction, the mixtape rounds up a solid roster from Chronixx to Popcaan to Romain Virgo and of course our folks like Major Lazer and Jahdan Blakkamoore, who contributed heavily to the album. Dancehall, hip hop, roots, a few electronic twists and Max at the controls combine for a tight project. Stream and download below, tracklist here.
