Words by Jesse Serwer—
Hello yello!!! Today is the 41st birthday of one Rodney Price—Bounty Killer. But the Warlord/5-Star General isn’t sailing off into middle age quietly. His latest movement sees him team once again with dancehall dude-of-the-moment (and this year’s Reggae Sumfest Dancehall Night headliner) I-Octane on a new riddim from Markus Records.
“Double Trouble” travels thematically similar territory as its predecessor, 2012’s “Badmind Dem A Pree,” but packs a much meaner punch, in our opinion. It’s not our favorite Warlord this year—that would be “Dedicated,” his cross hangry miserable traphall collab with Sweden’s Jamtech Foundation, but it’s good to see the occasionally MIA Bounty adding to his iconic catalog as he reaches this landmark.
