Cham’s “Lawless” (produced by JA Productions for Madhouse Records) is easily one of the best dancehall tunes of the season, a badman anthem with shouts to just about every garrison community on the island of Jamaica, from Kingston hotspots like Tivoli, Gully and Seaview to Spanish Town and Flankers in Montego Bay. Cham doesn’t hit all of these in the video (directed by a guy called Dennis Brown—any relation?) but the visual tour of Kingston is quite comprehensive. This is a rare instance of a dancehall video that looks exactly like the song sounds. Mad!
