Video: Them Island Boyz x Jah Cure, “Kiss Me Girl”

Words By Nico Simino—

Not to be confused with Dem Franchise Boyz (remember those guys?), Them Island Boyz are a duo whose members, B.V and Drastic, hail from the islands of St. Thomas and Antigua, respectively, having met while attending college at the University of the Virgin Islands. Though their name is just getting out there in the Caribbean, the pair’s “Kiss Me Girl” is already quite the hit in parts of Africa, charting at #6 on MTV Africa. The catchy single, which also features Jamaican crooner Jah Cure, is a sweet love song with a pretty smooth lovers-rock-type groove but I feel like I’ve heard a part of this song somewhere before…perhaps from a childhood movie.
