French West Indies: Vybz Kartel x Supa Dups x DA (of Chester French)

Words by Eddie STATS Houghton

Our longtime dude and Grammy-winner Supa Dups just hit us up with some new tracks that he quietly leaked from an unlikely collaborative project with DA of indie pop outfit Chester French. There have been great Jamerican collaborations before–though for some strange reason its usually the non-Jamaican who is wizard behind the boards–but there is still something special about this particular superhero team-up. For one thing, dudes from CF met at Harvard and Dups is the reigning scholar of sound so it makes sense on the organic intellectual level: Ghetto Palms meets Ivy League! As the so-called Harvard of Dancehall (thanks, Walshy) we are quite chuffed to present their dissertation in two parts: “Who Do You Know?”; followed by “Too Cool” (featuring guest lecturer Vybz Kartel).
