Mad Again: The Return of South Rakkas Crew

Words by Jesse Serwer, via Mad Decent

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard anything new from South Rakkas Crew. The multinational (Canada and Florida-based) production team were detonating all sorts of riddims and remixes in the mid 2000s, most notably the Sizzla and Aidonia-voiced Chinkuzi, but have gone mostly quiet these last few years. Earlier this week, Mad Decent informed us about their latest venture,  Nuff Remixes, Vol. 1, a full-length LP of remixes by other producers of South Rakkas tunes like “Bun Up 3000” (featuring Capleton), now available on iTunes. Stream the whole thing on Soundcloud, and download Schlachtofbronx’s “Bun Up 3000” remix here.
