wayne, b, veg

As New York City geared up for Caribbean on Friday night, BET hosted a special Caribbean-themed edition of its daily music show 106 & Park featuring dancehall royalty Beenie Man, Mr Vegas and Wayne Wonder. In addition to live performances from all three, Beenie also premiered his brand-new video for “Thug Love” featuring Ce’cile (and produced by LU friend Khabir Bonner), which we premiered online a few hours later. Video of the 106 episode has now made it to the ‘Net too.

If you don’t mind sitting through a few commercials first, you can watch the full episode below via BET’s video player. Or go here to skip right to Beenie Man’s performance.

We’re not sure who the vocalist on the hook for “Shame the Devil,” from No Malice’s upcoming Hear Ye Him album, is, but he sounds like a scientist-engineered cross between Beenie Man and Capleton, adding some red-hot fiyah fi burn bag ah wire over a hard-edged, hip-hop beat.
