I’m looking forward to this column as a way to give the people an inside look at what some badd deejay’s are holding in their record bags and hard drives these days in the reggae/dancehall/soca/tropical/bass world. Here’s a few picks I’ve been running at Tormenta Tropical, a monthly party I host in SF w/ partner Oro11. You can always expect the unexpected at Tormenta so let’s go with a mixed bag of vibes to start the show.

Madd madd madd stack of soca remixes and blends from one of the toppa top remixers in the game  Black Chiney‘s own Willy Chin. Last week we featured the Uh Gosh! mix on #MixtapeMondays, which has quickly become one of our favorite mixes of the year, and now Willy has taken it one step further—just in time for Miami Carnival—by bouncing down all the sickest remixes from the CD and offering them up to the world as individual tracks.

Be forewarned that you may end up wining at your desk or swerving on the freeway with the latest effort we just got handed from Orange Hill Productions. Our dupes in the UK have been teaming up with artists like Vybz Kartel, Mr Lexx, Busy Signal, Fatman Scoop and heaps more over the past few years, and, for their latest single, Jr. Tubby and Ras Kwame drafted none other than RDX to spread their signature party flow all over this uptempo Electro-Bashy recording. There’s even a 2-step mix to make sure the UK massive is properly sorted.
